No More Broken Head Studs!
I got my car back from Dan Jacobs today. Had to do a top end because of 7 broken head studs (posted during summer). Because of one of the broken studs, they had to split the case. Bearings were perfect. New seals, clutch, head studs, sound pad, rear shift bushings, tensioner oil lines, rings, rod bearings, chains and guides, breather, valve guides, exhaust valves, cam regrind, and oil return tubes.
While it was apart I had all the engine tin, fan, housing, strap, and valve covers powdercoated, and bought a new Rennline Stainless engine mount bar. Before I took it in, I replaced the exhaust studs, added SSI and 2 in 1 out M+K, A/C and console delete, new heater boxes and cables, aluminum sump plate, heater hoses, backdated oil lines, O2 sensor, rear rotors, pads and calipers, tires, and tons more. I can't believe how well it runs, drives, shifts, sounds now! I didn't know the clutch could engage so easily, nor that the exhaust wasn't supposed to pop under deceleration. I forgot how smooth everything used to be. I washed it, covered it, and parked it in the garage. Thanks to Dan, Bela, and Robin at The Hairy Dog Garage, in Oxford CT and George at Proformance (powdercoating) in New Rochelle, NY. Picture shows that I have plenty of engine detailing left, and I'm not gonna lie to ya— I think my new heater hoses clash with my fan housing. Can you say "heater backdate"? By the way, whats the best way to spruce up the intakes and other cast pieces while they are in the car?

They do great work, Dan put a 3.0 in my 74 a long time ago and it was bulletproof. Too bad I sold it.
