Keep the cup for sure. Race the RSR replica and sell the racecar. Enjoy the RSR as a dual purpose car.

Keep the Cup! My father sold the '67 Corvette mentioned in my signature in '81 for $13000. My whole family regretted it, even before they took off in value. It was a minor miracle that the car found it's way back into our lives, and unless a serious financial hardship befalls, it'll never leave the family again. And it's not one of 45 (nor is it as fun to drive as the 3.6). Again, keep the Cup car.

Oh, and by the way, KEEP THE CUP CAR!

Only one of your cars is historically important, and therefore truly matters.

Keep it, then dump one of the other less significant cars. But you still want the dedicated track car, and the fun road car. So save money while pursuing your passion by starting over with a near-stock 73T or even SC or Carrera (it's fun to revisit the roots) and building it up over time, because that's half the enjoyment of a non-stock, high-performance Porsche.

Race the race car, sell the clone and store the cup car at MMP. I will take good care of her :)

lol... good advise ! I would sell the cup car as I would be paranoid to damage it ... you can race /abuse/ enjoy the clone and know that you can always fix it and not diminish it's value

Keep them both...I should have bought more cars instead of tech stocks; look at what I have now!

Both cars are beautiful. I think you'd regret selling either one of them.

I have to second what Jack said, the RSR has been built to your unique taste (it looks great!) and standard and would be much harder to get your money out of. The Cup car has more well defined market value and also would be something you could probably move for around what you have in it. In addition I would add that building one of these unique early cars is expensive and emotional and speaking for me, not something I'd want to do 'again and again'. So enjoy your RSR and let the cup go in my view. good luck.

I'll practice my sales pitch on your wife, before I try it on my wife about why my car needs all the upgrades I have planned. :-)

Lets say you do sell the cup car. I will presume that you sold it for a fair price. How much is it going to appreciate if for example a year or two down the road? Now lets say one or two years down the road you decide that the cup car is more what you want. Yeah you'll pay a little more, but not much, and it will give you more time with the RSR.

Flip side, lets say you do sell the RSR. Most likely you will get fraction of the dollar so there will be an initial ouch factor. Then lets say one or two years down the road you decide, I really want the RSR. Well, like someone else said earlier, there are many available and given the fact that they are not as likely to appreciate, you can essentially "get back into the swing of things" quite easily.

Good luck and no matter the decision, I don't see a down side.
