While I wait for my CDI box to return I started to take out stuff from the engine bay. Also bought a fan cover plate from here (Pelican) to cover the heater shroud I removed.

Fan heater cover delete arrived. Here are a few photos of the install. The unit is made out of fiberglass and has no holes for the bolts. Easy to mark and drill.

No wonder people just cut the wires and are done with them... uff... I had to remove the pins from the plug to be able to pull the wires through the hole... Thanks to all of you that replied to my thread on this.

Anyway, I labeled the plug with number and wrote down where each one goes. Mirrors finally out.

I will finish removing the long A/C hoses and removing the rocker panels tonight.

How much does that motorized mirror unit weigh?

I will post the weight once I get home. Unless someone else can chime in. Post that I saw mentioned something like 10lbs for both... Will confirm tonight.

I was bent out of shape (still am) that this rust free roller needs to have the front pan replaced due to rust. I decided on holding off on starting the project till the first of the year and put it back on the market till then to see of someone wanted the project.

Well...I still have it...and I've started the project. I've gutted the car and am currently working on the sunroof delete. What a project.

This past weekend I stood back to look at my progress. I must admit - this is going to be a nice car!

No updated pics yet. I do plan to take some pics of the sunroof delete project and post 'em up here on Pelican.

935 styled mirrors fitted... now I need to remove them and do the finishing touches before putting a coat of paint.

I did the bolt on the frame and will do the 3M special double face tape on the bottom.

On the passenger side I had to sand down and even out one of the sides to make the mirror align even to the frame.

If someone that has these mirrors can post a side shot of them I would appreciated... somehow the gap from the bottom of the mirror to the door does not seem correct... The double face tape will fill the gap but just want to compare to other folks with the same setup in their car. Also, if you can post the vendor/provider of your 935 styled mirrors it will help.

I have a black piece of vinyl that will cover the hole that can be seen from the inside. I will just glue that piece to the mirror. But here is a photo of what the mirror looks like from the inside of the car without the vinyl in place:

Well... got the urge to do something to the car today... ended up working until 2:30am... and here I am posting photos of the progress...

Removed the sills. Pretty easy stuff... First remove the two end covers (held in place with a phillips screw), then remove the rubber strip to get access to the bolts. This one just slides off or you can gently pull it out. Loosen the bolts underneath (don't take them out completely... no need and those also hold the oil lines). Take out the bigger phillips screws on the side and done. Sills out.

The line you see hanging is the A/C hose... really tempted of just cutting it instead of trying to remove it in one piece.... :evilgrin:

Also finished installing the door panels... panels install easy... the part that took me a lot of time :banghead: was the power window switch... seems I forgot where the wires go in the passenger side and I can get that window to work from the passenger switch... it works from the driver's switch... after a few fuses blown I decided to leave it alone and search on the subject... can't figure out what the hell I did wrong...

Thank you! The back flares... hummm... why do you think I am leaving those for last??... LOL I need to build up the courage to cut into the car... :eek: You could say that everything so far could be return back to normal... but once I cut into that sheet metal... there is no going back...

Any chance you have photos of the inner fenders? Where the fender meets the firewall? On the inside? Looking for suggestions on how to attach mine. I thought about custom L brackets to attached to the original bolt clips...

Edit:: I just read again your threads... your fenders where from a local source. Thanks anyway. Need to find someone that have used GT Racing fenders to help with the answer.

Got some work done today...

Removed the driver's side fender, fitted the passenger side fender,
fixed the mess I made with the window switch wiring when I installed
the door panels :rolleyes: (no more blown fuses).

I reused the clips from the original fender. Fitment for the fender was very
good but there is some work needed toward the back of th fender (where it
meets the windshield. The material in that area is thin so while fitting it I put
some cracks on the gel coat. I will build it up from the inside to make it
stronger (too thin now). and to also fill the gap between the fender and the
door better. Too wide of a gap right now.

On the inside, since there is no provision supplied to attached them to the stock
bolt holes, I plan on using some custom made "L" brackets to hold the side to
the stock bolts position and then buil up the area with some FG to make it look
nice and even (and to hide the L brackets added).

I really think that the part that will give me the most amount of work to get it
right will be the bumper... it seems to stick out on the sides more than it
should. We will see once the driver's fender is fitted correctly.
