5 or 6 pt harness with stock seats?

So I need to get a harness for my cars. Ideally, it could be easily removed so it could be moved from the coupe to the targa and back as needed.

I also would like to be able to run whjat ever harness with stock seats.

What options do I have? I would prefer minimal or no permanent modification to either car.

I have searched but most harness threads talk about harness bars and roll cages.

I would mount a harness bar if neccesary. I have also looked at the Quickfit harnesses that Schroth makes but there are none for P-Cars.

Just a couple of points for you to ponder...
Most of the harness bars are harness GUIDE bar - they are not designed to take loads.
5/6 point harness will keep you in the seat if you roll over. You won't slide under the seat. Your roof may collapse.
If the harness is there only to keep you in the seat, a stock seat will very unlikely achieve that even with harness.
Without the shoulder belt holes, belt can slip off even if you cross them behind the seats.
Without a sub-belt hole, I don't think there is a good way to mount 5-point.

The PCA has new rules for harnesses in cars for this year. If you have a harness in the car you must have seats designed for harnesses, meaning seats with holes through the shoulder area and a sub strap all properly fastened within the car.
Before you buy anything check with your club but your intended application with stock seats is very dangerous.

I saw that thread. The club I plan to run with only requires a 4 pt harness.

If your going with a 4-pt, consider the new Schroth ASM 4 pt. Anti-sub belts without the sub belt.

Are you suggesting the Rallye 4 ASM? Where do I mount the rear straps?

Hi:

I am a Schroth Distributor and we've installed a LOT of these harnessbelts in these cars by anchoring them to the rear seat belt mounts and running the straps over a harness bar.

I will also repeat the requirement for a seat that either has a movable headrest or holes for the shoulder belts. Stock Porsche seats are unsafe for use with any of these systems and Schroth is VERY specific about this.

I've had the Rallye 4's in my own cars since 1986.

It looks like I'm going to haveto pay the piper...

I just had seats for my 77 redone so I hate to not be able to run them. Looks like I'm going to have to invest in some on piece seats and will go with a harness.

I guess what started out as trying to comply with club rules has turned into doing what's best for my own safety (which should be the priority anyway).

I'm using the Profi III ASM (no sub-belt needed)

Where did you connect the rear straps to?

Originally I planned to anchor the belts to the rear belt anchors, but I'm putting in a rollbar now and I'll wrap them around the bar. The rear belt anchors are fine mounting points.
