MSD timing computer and 6AL connections
Please critically review this drawing.
It is a diagram of the connections for a MSD 6AL and a MSD timing computer for a 1980 SC. Although several people on the forum are using this configuration, I couldn't find a schematic of the system. Thanks, Jim S. ![]() |

I cannot run out to my car right now, but there are a lot of us who have done this, lots of posts with pics. Also, many of us used male spade connectors crimped onto the ends of the MSD wires and plugged right into the OEM CD box harness. Makes for a clean install and you can go back to original in 5 minutes. Just use some electrical grease to prevent corrosion. Run the big red wire to the starter and the black to a solid ground. Good Luck
Edit: Here's a link which shows what I am talking about MSD wiring advice (connectors)
