Cool!

I haven't had a chance to really push it yet but nothing dramatic so far as I can tell. Regardless, it passes the bling test.

Question though. just out of curiosity. Why clear coat? Durability? The factory didn't as I'm sure you know. Also are you going to paint the whole trunk area or just spot it. I was concerned about color match with the rest of the trunk if I clear-coated it.

Let us know how it turns out. FWIW mine looked just as bad prior to painting.

Ken911,

Could have but didn't. Wasn't hard at all to carefully mask the area. I debated it for a while and figured if masking it didn't come out right I'd drop it but it wasn't necessary. I'm pretty anal too as you might be able to tell

BTW I've since had the fuel sending cover and spare hold down bracket re-plated by a fellow Pelican. As soon as the spare hold down bracket gets here this project is done!

Last year I'd purchased the upgraded carpet set from the Ebay guy (forgot his name) and now that will only go in when necessary. Read that as practically never.

Yes i got the updated carpet set also it looks awsome!! dont have any pics of it though. i got the option with the porsche emblem. but it is directly behind the strut brace. So when i put the same kit in my carrera i'll get it without the porsche logo.

Looks almost brand new - you must be well happy.

What Fuch is it that works as a spare - I know of a few kicking around and like the look so might try to do the same if I can source the right wheel.

'Dawg: o ne more question about your Fuchs. How were they finished. It looks almost like the centers are painted silver and the lip is obviously polished. Did you do that work too, or have it done some where. Are the centers actually painted?

Beautiful car. Woild love to see some side shots of the car with those Fuchs!

Thanks guys,

Regarding the Fuchs. Spare is a standard 15X6. I refinished all of them with polished lips and painted centers (Rustoleum rattle can Silver Metallic) you can find more info on a previous thread I posted.

I've posted tons of pictures that I'm sure most pople are bored by now but since you asked.

Me like it too much! Seriously, nice looking car. Mine is an 83 Ruby Red cab. I have been toying with backdating to a 74 IROC/RS style. Was originally thinking gold/bronze centered fuchs with polished and matching Carrera side logo, but you have given me pause to consider silver.
