How to replace sunroof cables??
A DIY project - replacing sunroof cables in an 88 Carrera. I understand that since the part # is for 964 and newer, I have to adapt the cables to fit an 88 Carrera by removing the felt. How do I remove the existing cables in order to replace them with the new cables?
Thanks in advance! |

Here are a couple of links that should help. To remove the old cables, remove the gear assembly behind the zipper in the headliner. You will then be able to open the sunroof manually. Pop the headliner off the sunroof and slide if back (liner only) and you will see the cable brackets that attach to the roof. Remove the brackets and pull the old cables out. Good luck.
