Yeah why is it away from him on the street? No problems driving such a vehicle, but leaving it with others would be scary at best.

I assure you J.S. has plenty of folk close to him that are just as nuts about his cars as he. That wasn't just some transport guy.

Jerry Seinfelds 64 Porsche is no. 300049. This is the first Porsche 911 (the prior cars were 901's) and it's said that the first owner was prof. Porsche.

Nice detail is that this car has a SR.

Interesting information on this website questioning the authenticity of Seinfeld's car.

The web site is wrong. It is authentic.

I'd assume the 'stranger' is someone hired just to take care of his many Porsches. No idea re salt. Maybe a dozen guys go over the bottom of the car with baby wipes afterwards...

He was nice enough to display that car and the "last" 911 (blue 993) at the 50th Birthday bash Porsche had at Monterrey. IF PCA ever has a NYC meeting again, it would be nice if he let people have tours... I'd rejoin for that. He probably has the best collection of 911s in the world or close to it.

He also keeps a bunch of cars at an airport in SoCal. There were threads on his NYC garage and on the airport cars here some time ago.

Yep, Jerry Seinfeld is indeed a true tall dawg...he can pee up that lampost as high as anybody in the P-car world. I've heard from one who should know that he's actually a nice guy about it all, too.

NY, unlike Jersey, still requires inspections for antique vehicles .... tawk to me abowd it ... PITA but whaddya goin to do.

Beautiful car and example of the breed.
We'll just have to wait for that invite.

I am probably wrong as usual but isn't his car actually #2. I thought the #1 was never sold and is in a museum. And that #2 is actually the first car that was sold making it almost #1.

Thank you. I didn't catch that small detail. The one at the Peterson is indeed a 901.

Well done Shaun!

Geeze people are actually quibling over whether or not THAT 1964 and THAT 1997 are serial numbered frist and last? --there's something kinda sad about that minutia quibling.

I heard he had the first and last 911 (air cooled) and had plates stating 1st and last, but thats what I heard. It would be great to see Jerry's whole collection. I heard he has a 917 in Boca where his mom lives. this was spotted just after Rennfest II. I also heard he has a 356 prototype unrestored, you can actually see the hand made imperfections on the body from the factory.

Island 911,

"THAT 1997" should be 1998. Sorry I guess I'm just quibling over minutia too.

When you take anything seriously enough to invest hundereds of thousands of dollars I think you have past the point of minutia....

Gorgeous car !!! It must be really cool to be able to say 'I own the first 911 ever made' I wonder what that car is worth.
