964 shift knob and boot options *help*

the car i just aquired has the original tan or white colored shift knob and boot. the rest of the cars interior has been changed out in another color but this is still left. i would rather have something aftermarket but retain the boot also(not the original). does anyone know what is involved in making this work? any pictures.. will the aftermarket boots momo sells with one of their knobs work. how will it attach to the colsole. the factory has some sort of retaining band around it.

Perf prod sells a new boot knob combo in factory leather. I used this over a factory short shifter that was slightly cut down.

I forgot to mention that you have to have to order it for a 944, but it is the same part for the 964.
