Rear view mirrors revisited
My wife was driving my 83 the other day and tells me that the mirror just fell off the windshield. I believe mine was epoxied to windshield. I have planned to re-epoxy this weekend, but have a question still. When the mirror fell off, it actually took a small chip of glass with it... maybe the diameter of a pencil eraser head or less. I do not see any stress cracks at all, yet! I am wondering if I should have the chip (again, on the interior side), filled first before reattaching the mirror. I thought about having a windshield guy do it for me, using the same practice they use for exterior.
Am I over-worrying about this? Maybe I should just re-epoxy it and forget about it?

Do not just glue it back in place.
You will have to take it and see if it can be fixed... most likely you are looking at a new windshield. ![]()

One time aliens came and put scratches on my clear coat where there where once bugs and tar. Im guessing the aliens had green scratch pads.
