New color has started

Took a big step last night.....

I've been on the fence, keep the car the same metallic brown, or bite the bullet and change the color.

Change in color won.

I figure, since its a track car and a non-metallic color, I can do a piece at a time, then eventually pull the glass, put in the cage, and paint the tub.

Here is a sample of the new color...

It's very close to 156 orange, guy in paint shop couldn't pull up a code for it, so we used the chroma base chip book.

Front end will be next....

Looks great, John! Pretty close to the Glasurit 156 Orange, too!

I would stick with the metallic brown, rosewood. It is a good color for a 911 and is becoming popular in new cars again. Rosewood has a lot of debth to it.

Bumper is mounted for now, need to find a bumper to body gasket for under the reflector....

Of course the fiberglass repair popped while I was installing it, so the paint has a crack now.....I'll just do it again when I do the rest of the car. Looks good for now....

I like! Kind of resembles the fantastic color schemes of the 964 RS.

Love it.
Curious what kind of paint are you spraying? Also is it single stage, or did you spray clearcoat also?

Told one of my co-workers/car buddies here at the office about the bumper popping and he said "did you put flex agent in the paint" Dooh! Oh yeah, this is fiberglass. I'll redo the bumper when I paint the front.

Anyway.....here is my inspiration.

Orange rocks. Great choice.

(But brown is great for UPS trucks.)
