DME/ECU Question(s)
Trying to learn how my 1979 930 works (or doesn't) compared to a '88 930 I recently sold. I have never owned this early a model so wonder what preceded later 1988 ECU/DME controls. I am having a stalling problem and trying to find the gremlin. Have changed Fuel pump relays. Also: Is it common for 1979 930s to have fuel pumps operating with key in ON position before activating starter? Any input sincerely appreciated.

Unless someone has modified the car, you've got a CIS engine.
Explain the stalling, - how, when, etc. |

stalling
1979 930. Pretty fresh engine/electrical throughout. Not old used up and fagged out piece. Stalled at stop sign today. Key off then key on to start and car fires up. Count to four and car stalls. Key off, key on to start - cranks but no fire. Same procedure a few times more. Finally wiggle relays - I can hear them working. Car now starts again, but count to four and it stalls (still not in gear). Wiggle WUR wire out of desperation - look for anything out of sorts. See nothing. Try to fire again and it does. Drives 5 miles to home and seems trouble free. Any suggestions or input?
