co adjustment 87 3.2

The PO had the co adjusted tolean it out a little to pass smog in Ca. before I bought it. I live in OR. and we don't have smog here. (not even a visual.)I had it checked on the meter by a mechanic and he said it was well within the limits. in other words not to lean. I'm just about to install a Dansk pre muffler on it, and I want to richen it up a tad for peak performance as opposed to best emmisions.O.K, now for the question. do I tun it clockwise or counterclockwise, and what are the optimum levels?Seem s like a dumb question, but I'm still waiting on my bently's to arrive soI'm relying on you guys to answer my rookie questions. thanks.

The performance level is preset by the DME control unit and enriching the mix at the AFM beyond spec will only reduce performance and may increase valve guide wear with increased cylinder head temps.

thanks. the po had had it reduced slightly at the afm so I.m really just trying to find out what spec is, and make sure I'm at it.

CO% should be at 0.5-1.0*

* Measured ahead of the cat. conv. and with oxygen sensor plug disconnected.
