There is hardly a straight line on a 911. By removing the bumper strip, it seems to really make that big flat surface of the bumper stand out. I actually wanted a IROC bumper when I got my SC and not can't stand them on a narrow car. I guess i'm just being a picky designer.

I started looking at the bellows, and noticed that it would allow airflow to the front of the cooler, if a scoop was there. So, I started playing around with some aluminium, and this is what has come about so far. I've got a DE this weekend, and I'm thinking about giving this piece a try, although we're forecast for cooler weather, only about 90 degrees. I should be able to see if it does any good, even with the cooler temps.

What do you all think? I'm about 1 1/2" clear at the narrowest points, and 6" high, so I figure about 9-11" sq inches of frontal surface as it is, but that could be increased if I make another. I'll drill two holes at the rear, and bolt thru the bellows mount holes, using a rubber gasket to protect the paint. The front will be a little tougher to get to the inside for the fastners, but I'm thinking longer bolts with standoffs. Hammertone paint will be used to hide the hammer marks at the rear.

From this thread... Oil cooler scoop to replace bellows-rough model

Sure the shell would be toast in a hit, but the rest might be protected. If made wide enough on top with a slight rise, might be able to ditch the rubber smile at the hood as well as the bellows.
