Electric Window Problem Help?

Ok guys heres the problem ,my window on my 88 carrera,on the driver side just stop working,i exchange the door switch with the one next to, for the other side and i manage to get the window up,know the window from the passanger side wont go up neither from the single switch on that door or from the other door,so i can press any of the switches and the windows wont go up or down either one,i check the fuses they are ok,is there a cental motor some where? i know they go up and down fine,or is possible that one switch is bad affecting the entire operation?
Thanks for your help.
Regards Juan

Have not had any trouble with the 911 windows yet. Had to clean the spade terminals on my 944 motors to get them working.

I recently replaced my driver side window switch which controls the passenger window.

I too changed the switches on the drivers side to control the passenger window. After doing this the failing window worked. If yours does not go down on the passenger side and you change switches, knowing it worked for the drivers side. I would think the connectors on the passenger side window motor may have a problem. I would first double check with some new switches before tackling that one.

I haven't heard of a motor dying only one way.
Perhaps Warren has more info.

Good luck.

Juan, it's probably all that extra HP you have with the turbo.

Seriously, my 78SC passanger side goes from working to not working. I have narrowed it down to the passanger control switch. I have taken it apart and it seems to be a loose connection since I can jiggle the entire switch and the window begins to work. This corrects the problem regardless of whether I try to control the window with the driver's side control or the passanger's control. Check the wiring, at least with mine, and it appears others, it is merely a loose connection and not a bad motor.

Juan, you need to replace the bad switch that was originally in the drivers window spot. The passenger side window in some cases will not work unless both switches are good.
