So I bought one, now what?

Yep, she followed me home yesterday. I wasn't expecting it, but I could not pass it up.
A 1985 with only 37,000 miles on it.
I wanted badly to have John Walker do a PPI, but there were others very eager to drive...
I opted to take the chance and bite the bullet, as the voice in my head said "This is the damn car" and when that happens, I know that this is the damn car...
It will go into Walker ASAP for an inspection though...I'm told WA state has a 72 hour "if it's messed up" law...anyone know anything about that?

I did have them hoist it up so I cold look underneath and listen to the engine from underneath. I found nothing that stared back at me, really.

Had some guys at PCA Autocross look at it today. Had one drive it, even. All he could say was "WOW"

Well..hjere she is. Her name is Tupelo Honey.

So...supposing everything checks out...now what?

Little seepage. There's "Diaper" under the car right now, so I can check any dripping...none yet! THere is *NO* oily smell after running the car.

Rest of pictures can be found Right Here

Thanks!

I drove about 30 of them, looked at dozens more, carfaxed probably 200, expanding the search nation-wide even. I'd just about given up hope...

The original asking price for this car was about $30,000 because it was on consignment...
It went down to $22k when he traded it in for another car...

Just drive it for a while. Try to learn as much about as possible before you start changing things. It looks like a nice original car. Congrats!

I say just get rid of the 80's white wheels and then drive it. I would say on white a full polish would look best but you could also paint the backgrounds black and try just polishing the petals.

WOW! Nice car! I like the color too... (see the pics in my sig)

Now get out there and drive it like it was meant to be driven - without breaking any motor vehicle laws, of course!
