Everyone,
Got a photo shoot coming up and I'd really like to finish the look I have begun. I do know that I can install 964 mirrors without any issues...but they just don't look period correct to me...of course neither to the flags. ![]() So, I plan to make the necessary body work and paint to complete the job. I know the 935 style mirrors are sharp...but I have seen pics of mirrors that bolt in near the stock position but of course a diffrerent hole pattern. Please provide your thoughts and info/resources if availalbe. Thanks Paul

Flag Mirrors
Paul,
I used BMW because the right Porsche repro wasn't available at the time. These are bigger than the early chrome flag mirrors but slightly smaller than the later chrome/black flag mirrors. Pelican sells the Porsche repros in chrome but I guess for yours you will want to get them in or make them black. Either way the mounting spot is close but will not completely cover the original mounting holes so your body guy will have some work. Not a big deal. On mine along with the cosmetic work they tack welded the original steel plates that the SC flag mirrors mounted to and drilled and threaded new mounting holes. If you can't source the Porsche ones the BMW part #'s are 5116821793 and 51161822076. -Chris ![]() ![]() Last edited by Stophos; 03-26-2007 at 06:20 AM.. |

RUF also known as 935 mirrors....There will look PERFECT! You will need to have the holes from the old mirrors welded up.
Good luck...Beautiful car.. |

thethrill,
Where can I find those mirrrors. I like the idea that they adhere to the existing wing window. And if I decide to change it later....I will just drill holes back in where I plan to shave the existing flags. Still...where can I purchase those mirrors. Paul. PS....car is already at shop awaiting my decision.
