pls help me order the right Bilstein shocks
I'm going to replace both the front and rear shocks on my 81'SC with the standard green shocks
Do I have the Boge struts or not? Thanks: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Too hard to tell. If you clean the strut you should see the Boge name embossed right in it if it is. Get out some brake clean and some rags.

you have bilstein shocks- note the roll pin on the bottom just above the ball joint. The other clue is the green housing. So you need bilstein insert for bilstein struts.

Yeap! Those are surely Bilsteins and they are great. Last summer I redid all of my four corners with the PelicanParts Bilstein. Strut inserts for the front end and shocks for the rear. I have been enjoying it since. Very nice.
Do you have Wayne's Book 101 Projects? It is very helpful and describes the difference in shocks/struts to the letter. Yes! The roll pin is a dead give away as to the manufacturer. Good luck with the install. ![]()
