How to tell carrera break calipers

Hey Gang,

In my stash of parts I found a box with a pair of brake calipers in them. The box is marked Carrera calipers, how can I tell for sure?

Thanks!

You can measure the distance between the pistons, or (I think) the diameter of them... I think those two things should help you figure out what they are.

Carrera calipers use the same pads as their predecessors. The rotor is thicker, hence the caliper is wider. If your calipers still have pads in them, the low pad warning wires coming out of the pads will indicate they are Carrera.

I don't have any Carrera calipers here but
for SC front there is a ~7.4mm spacer between the 2 sides, Carrera will have 4mm thicker spacer, otherwise the calipers are pretty much the same, both use 42mm pistons.

for SC rear there is a ~10.8mm spacer between the 2 sides, Carrera will have 4mm thicker. In this case though the pistons are different 38mm for SC, 42mm for Carrera
