Can anyone tell me what the ohm value should be on my frequency valve to see if it is good or bad?
Next. Shouldnt the frequency valve on my Porsche be the same as the old CIS Audi's where you can actually hear it buzz and feel it operate with your fingers? Mine appears to be dead and Im just trying to get some more info. The car is a 1977 930 euro car. Thanks for any help here!

according to my hayes manual its 2-3 ohms. Iv actually been having problems with my car and i thik it may be the frequency valve also. i cant tell if its buzzing because my engine is so rumbley but i know its suposed to. and when i checked its ohms it said zero. The car seems to be getting better upon running it for some time and a bottle of techron so im not going to replace anything just yet

From what I've been told, you should be able to feel it vibrate with your fingers. Going to check on mine today.

Re: Frequency valve question.......

I still struggle with the FV. Currently I drive the car with the O2 sensor grounded as it's the best I can get it to run. Tried swapping out the Lambda computer with no luck. I plan to go at the CIS again now that the weather is better. At one point I drove the car with one of these fuel injector testers plugged in. The car ran great with it. ![]() I'll be watching this thread to see how you do.

a cheap stethoscope will tell you if it's buzzing. i replaced the round sensor on the 'scope with a length of metal brake tubing. good for finding vacuum leaks and zeroing in on various noises.
