Engine Reinstall, G50 Slave Issue

So I'm reinstalling after a top end job, Everything has flowed quite smoothly til tonight.
The engine was bolted in last night, auxillary hook-ups were for tonight.
-As part of the bolt-in last night, I installed the clutch slave to to the tranny, every felt like it came together well. (that was at partial drop height.
This evening, I decided to check the feel of the tranny.. -In drivers seat, bam, clutch goes to floor, (mild restance) no return.. I pull it up, and duh.. DO AGAIN. Same.
Luckily the gear changing feels smooth, so I stop worrying about that. But damn this clutch return, I know it's the slave pin, probably in crooked, and shooting into never land of the G50.
Get out of car, look underneath and low and behold, a nice puddle of brake fluid weeping from the drain hole in bellhousing.

I pull off the slave cylinder -no pin. I peer into the darkness and I can see the pin, sticking out of the slave mount hole, I pull that #@@$# out too.
With the actual slave assembly, the pin looks to be just that, a pin, completely separate from the cylinder besides a pretty boot connecting the two parts...

Shoot.. I just anwsered myself in this diatribe, of sorts.. "Buy the new part, dumbass". If it leaked fluid, the damn thing is toast out the rear seal.

Anyhoo, part two is,
1- should I continue with my top side hook-up, because the engine is staying put for this wrist killing minor repair?

2. will the new slave cylinder go in easier and more straight than the old unit? my pin did look a little broke-dick. (kinda happy to see me) -not 180 degrees out straight, more like 150.

-I know, dumb.. but I thought it would find the groove on install and it was designed that way -like a spring inside the boot.

Unlucky, I feel your pain(well some of it)

I have removed and installed the salve on my car a few times with the engine in place so it is possible. You should also be able to see if the pin engages with the fork by looking/feeling through the inspection hole under the rubber rectangle cover.

Good luck with the new slave.
