Very good points Facey... I like it.

OK... New subject title:

"Anyone out there building a car that looks like a Porsche 911 with wide fenders in front and rear, not necessarily turbo fenders but more rounded (if you can find them) or possibly wider, with a front bumper which has an opening to cool oil (doesn't have to be functional), and a rear spoiler that looks like a duck's tail?"

I would imagine most people are not hung up on what the proper nomenclature is for these cars, but rather use the term in general to be descriptive. My 2 cents.

UPDATE at last...... I've been trying to post pics of the progress from the paint shop but the pics they sent were toooo big to upload and I was struggling to resize them

so here it is final coat of primer

with the black sprayed ready to mask

With the blue / black ready for orange

and finally complete with orange and lacquer over the lot and bonnet/doors rehung

Now just 6 weeks to get it finished

I called in with Mark (Gary ) at www.rs-911.co.uk (where markmw had his car painted) the other day to see his rsr steel flares...... man they are good, wish he was making them before I put the flares on mine would of saved me a huge amount of work re-shaping my turbo flares to match the rsr rounding his really look the business, next time I know where I'll be getting mine from! and the work he turns out is second to none!!

Unless the car has the same serial number, and was originally built during the same time period it's NOT a replica. It's a recreation. or an imitation. At best all of these cars in this thread are modified cars. They're just imitating something that they're not. Which is not a bad thing.

Before you get all upset please read his column. It's very interesting and he has some very solid points. Don't argue with me. BTW - i think I have his email if you really get all bent out of shape after reading his column.

+ 1 with Cory and I'm sure that's how the majority think If everyone is so bothered why are you so interested in reading the thread???

There's some really hot cars in this thread and everone should be proud of them and call them what they like

Thats my feelings anyway

And I think this will give it some motion from the RSR gene pool.
