Where did the body panels come from?
-Bumpers, front fenders and doors - GT Racing. Hood - Getty. R. 1/4's - A.I.R.

Can you post photos of the build process? I would love to see how the rear parts were attached.

Can you post photos of how the front fenders are attached to the car (on the side closer to the door, from inside the wheel well...)
-No pics but as standard fenders are attached

Can you post photos of the rear under side (to see the bumper from under the car, the setup for the exhaust, etc.)
-I'll post later when I have pics but the exhaust uses 993 h/e with tin cut off and crisscrossed phase 9's.

What are you using for wheels? Tires specs? Spacers?
-Wheels are Jongbloed's using Goodyear bias plys 16X11&13's (spec for GT-L)

What rear arms are you using? Stock, Turbo?
-Turbo

-91 pump gas. Maybe I'll use race gas in the future.

The dash pannel looks great, very clean and fits well.

Is that an available aftermarket part, or did you have it made?

I am interested in smoothing out the dash of my RS and don't care about factory correctness.

Thank you!! I will drop you a note. I also have the GT Racing front (and rear) panels... but the front do not have the provision for mounting them... those have to be fabricated, just wanted to see how that came out in yours. Now, thinking about it... I should have used the old fenders as the mold, lay some FG on the brackets to make a copy/impression and then bonded those to the GT Racing fenders... duh!!... I will try that to get a better looking bracket...

The guys over at Wevo made that dash custom. It's an anodized aluminum panel that actually attaches over the stock dash.

Here is the latest on my project.

The car is a blast to drive. It is noisy and the suspension is stiff, but you get used to the noise and the stiff suspension on a smooth surface feels very, very good. The 993 brakes really grip when you get on them.





I've decided to go a different route on the seats, thanks to some advice here on the board and a good friend of mine, I'm changing the sparcos for a set of vintage style seats. I was lucky to find a pair of original scheel seats. The upholstery was in bad shape but they're getting new life at the upholstery shop. Although they're bucket seats, the driver side has a built-in tilting mechanism.

Here are some pics of the seats. The powdercoaters should have the bases and rails done today and the seats should be ready today or tomorrow. If everything goes well, I should have them installed this weekend.

Here are some more pics of the center fill mod.

A couple things you should consider, clean your tank to make sure you don't have any flamable fumes. Try
to follow the contour of the hood, so there's quite of bit of "measure twice, cut once", you definitely
need at least another pair of hands. One mod that I think really helps to keep the tank from shifting once
installed is the tab on the rear of the tank that mounts to a bolt on the chasis, if you can weld the bolt
to the chasis would be much better. The neck on mine goes about 12 inches into the tank itself, we figured
it would cut down on the splashing when the car is in motion. The neck collar to catch water from the
outside can be anything you can find in your kitchen, just make sure it's a weldable material and it's thick
enough to withstand the heat from the welder. The one we used was fairly thin and a few times we thought it
was going to just melt in front of us. You'll also need a "nipple" with a hose on the lowest part of the catch
pan to drain the water. The hose can be routed towards the back of the tank and all the way down towards the
bottom of the car by the steering rack area. Hope this helps, let me know if you need any more info.

The seats were posted for sale locally and sold one and have one left, weird... I was getting a lot of requests for
one seat only and not as a pair. The person that bought the one was going to install it in his game room at home

I just posted the one remaining for sale in the pelican classifieds, asking $400 OBO for the seat only. I have the mounting
hardware for 2 seats and will sell that separately, if interested let me know and I'll figure out a price. It includes
2 bases for early cars and rails for bottom mount sparco seats. I can send you some pics.

The scheel seats feel great Doug. My suspension is fairly stiff and these seats have made it a lot more confortable. The
upholstery was done locally. I've used this shop (one man shop) for 12 years to do my upholstery. I had to provide most all
material such as the corduroy and elastic bands for the frames, but he took care of the padding and vinyl. For period
correct upholstery the best game in town is Autobahn interiors, the only reason why I didn't use them was because I
wanted to send some business to the upholstery guy I know... He bailed me out last time by coming to my house to
install the headliner, he brought his tools and only charged me $150 for the installation. He appreciated the business
for the seat upholstery and was very reasonable in the price as well.

Wow, those seats are awesome. I cant believe that that guy could turn them around so fast. They give that car a really nice old school look.

For your suspension, did you ever look into using tender springs to soften the ride? My suspension is also mucho stiffo. I plan to look into tender sprngs when I get a chance but havent had a chance yet.
