Is there a listing of 911's anywhere that tells US models, ROW models etc? I was thinking of the mid 80's when Porsche was making all the 944's and 928 seemed to be more in vogue than 911's.

"The Red Book." To be more precise, search "Porsche 911 Red Book" by Patrick Paternie. It lists all 911s built, with more info than you can imagine. My copy covers up 1999.

A new book, the Porsche Data Book, does an excellent job of listing all models, including 911s. I could tell you where to buy it, but I don't think that's allowed under list rules (I sell Porsche books). Google "Porsche books," and you'll find vendors.

The Red Book is great. Tells you all the changed by year with chassis numbers etc to verify any car you are looking at.

Get the red book, it's ten bucks well spent and fits in the glove box.
