Hard to tell, need more info

Did you remove the distributor? Installing a new one?

Is your engine running ok?

What year engine do you have?

If you removed the distributor and that was how it was aligned when you removed it, and you have not turned the engine then its good.

You should have placed the number 1 piston at tdc with the rotor pointed at the notch, prior to removal.

If you are reinstalling it and have piston @ TDC then pull the distributor back out and rotate the rotor shaft clockwise a little more when you put it in the grooves will rotate it CCW so that when it is fully seated it lines up with the notch.

What year engine you have determines weather your engine rotates CW or CCW.

Hope this helps.
