Intermittent Starting Problem-Help in Pin-Pointing Problem

Looking for some help in diagnosing my problem. I went to turn on my car yesterday and it was dead. The clock was working but no interior lights, fan etc and the starter would not turn. Thought it might be a dead battery but I checked and it was pushing 12.5 Amps. I wiggled the DME Relay which I had replaced about a month ago and still nothing. I opened the hood and wiggled some of the relays at the fuse panel and the trunk light came back on. I jumped in the car and it fired right up.

Later that day after a short drive I came out to start the car. Turned the key and the fan started, starter started to engage and then it went dead. Went through the same drill with the relays and it started again.

This morning it was dead again. This time messing with the fuse panel did not work. I moved to the batterey connection and wiggled them a bit and that worked. Light came back on and it started right up.

Any ideas what might be the problem? I looked at the battery ground strap on the transmission and the connections looked good. Could it be an ignition switch issue?

Not an expert, but I'll start it off. From what you describe, it doesn't sound like an ignition switch issue as that would be unrelated to interior lights, trunk light, etc. The jiggling of the fuses and battery cables caught my attention, though, as the symptoms are consistent with loose connections, even though they look good. Clean your battery terminals and tighten the cables at the battery. The heating of cables from current draw to the starter could account for the sudden shut down. This is the first suggestion, others will have more. Good luck.
