New shocks, wow!
I put some new rear shocks on my car last weekend and I just did my first auto-x with them.
Wow, what a difference and my old Bilstein HD was almost new. My car has 27mm torsion bars in the rear, but it was still way too soft in the rear, so I put these on: ![]() They are the Bilstein Clubsport, similar to Sports in rebound, but a lot stiffer in compression, if I understand it correctly. Now if I push back and forth on the targa bar the only flex I have is in the tires (205/50) and if I bounce my weight (230 lbs) on the door sills it only moves maybe an inch. I measured them against the HD and they are 20 mm shorter, suits a lowered car perfectly! ![]() ![]() The ride is a little more choppy at lower speeds, but otherwise they seem to match the 27mm bars better than the HD. In the front I still have Boge, I'll change them to clubsports too eventually. Don't need to for the street or auto-x, but maybe for the track. I'm going to a track day in a few weeks, I'll see after that.

That is nice! I have so far no track experience, but when I changed the old Boge for Bilstein standard I was amazed too how much the ride quality improved. Much firmer yet comfortable. I was thinking about the sport or even clubsport, but with only street driving I settled for the standard shocks. Very pleased.

Hi Markus!
I'm surpriced they were as comfortable as they are compared to the HD. OT: No track days planed? I've signed up for Knutstorp on the 3/7 and Kinnekulle 16/7. I was to Mantorp earlier this year, planing to go to as many days I can afford (and has time for) this year, I'm preparing myself for a trip to the Nurburgring next year ![]()

Certainly they are harsher over potholes and such, but bumpy uneven highway feels better.

Do come! The Kinnekulle Ring event features an Classic group with mostly cars from the seventies, that was cool last year. There will probably come a few Carrerra RS cars and replicas.
