Finally...some respect
Spent some time yesterday on the rear lid. Car needed some respect.
Grey works. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1404050356.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1404050708.jpg I trailered him to his special "home away from home"...for a short vacation while I build up a new engine  This one rocks, but I have a couple ideas for a special engine. Once built, I'll do the swap and this one will probably end up in the 914-6 that deserves some attention. I am starting with a 73.5 911/91 7R 2.4 longblock. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1404051198.jpg If someone needs this engine (for their correct restoration) before I dive into it...let me know. I would be happy to part with it, but you will need to provide me with a 2.4MFI longblock...hmm was that a small hint ;) Speedo |

wheel fitment
I get this question all the time.
Myth: the widest wheel that can be used under a stock SWB rear quarter is a 15 x 6, and if you are lucky you MAY be able to push the wheel out using a thin spacer. Reality: 15 x 7s fit in the rear with a bit of negative camber and rolled fender lips with plenty of clearance...(on my car). Because the cars were made by hand, maybe some were crafted differently and the space under the quarters is different...mine works. For the front I used a pair of deep sixes. No fitment problems. My tires were/are 205-50-15 front and 205-55-15 rear. This setup feels great, but one needs to take into consideration tbars and sway bars. I also have the car lowered, corner-balanced and aligned at the same time. It is a rollerskate on steroids. May not appeal to someone that needs a cushy 16 way electrical sport seat with heat. I like to feel the road. My favorite Porsche advertisement.... Kills Bugs Fast :D |
any updates please?

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/928989-cobalt-blue-r-clone-sale.html IMO; Deep sixes complete the look........ Reminds me of Raj's real R that now resides in a west coast collection...... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1478520770.jpg |
Lars,
You do incredible work. That is highway robbery for that car. Might be the bargain of the year. Rich |
