best thread ever
For some of us newbies ( under two years on the board). I'd love to hear from some of you guys on what was the best thread ever.. Certainly the random pic thread is in the top 5, but what are some of the others????? Ones that have been long dead would be great to see...

The ultimate backdating thread by Souk and the thread on structural reinforcement are both top notch. Jack's BBII series is also quite entertaining.

"Best" is really a subjective thought there...
I suppose here, best is probably meant in a Porsche Technical way, but my mind always goes back to the ones I got the biggest kick out of... The "Armor All on the Tires" thread ... or The "I was trimming back behind my privates and cut myself" thread from the OT forum... (now THAT was a funny one !!)

I like the ones where people get all mad and stuff over ( insert topic here) trivial things:
"Steve Wong chips" "K&N air filters" "best motor oil" "best brake pads" that is, as long as no one gets hurt. |

I liked the one where a guy shined up his tires, tread and all. Then was PO because he spun out in the rain.
Now that was entertainment.

RoninLB here in the N Carolina
member Jim Sims wrote an involved 2 section thread about rebuilding the 915 on his car. It was better than great. If you like how Jim writes you'd go wild over his 915 story. but i haven't been able to relocate it in search for years now. I think it was shelved by pelican when they cleaned up the server a few years ago. also member Tyson write about beefing up a 911's suspension with hard info and experience. and not to discount the electric popes like Early_S_Man, Loren, and even john_cramer's hard research and info about the early 911. all that said i feel that Sherwood is the non-acknowledged hard info hero around here. And he has the patience of a saint with the newbies. He'll walk them through so even they can understand their issue. all due respect to Milt, Souk, John Walker, and all others that make this forum the greatest 911 group in the world... |

Who could forget the "Can you tow a trailer with a 911?" thread! That one got a bit heated.
And there have been some interesting ones involving isalnd911 and his hatred of all things aftermarket... And Jacks aero projects are very interesting, educational and entertaining.

Well a string of SCWDP formation threads were good. Here are a couple:
911SC owners only....Read: "If you aren't a SC owner you can't come in here"........ "Calling all artists" Quote:
Yeah, Taking on the Porsche Engineers was good. Tho' really, I was trying to focus on just how impressive those slide-rule engineers were, in context of todays shiney gizmo makers. (oh, did that sound condesending toward all things aftermarket? --ooops )

There have been some good ones. How about "Rather Have a V8" - the thread that wouldn't die.
