Odometer problem

Hi..just noticed that my odometer and trip meter stopped working sometime in the past week. everything else seems ok. Had new tires put on just prior to it stopping. Any ideas or things I can check for? Thanks alot

The dreaded plastic odo gear. You can buy a new gear yourself and put it in, or send it off to one of the many gauge shops.

Thanks. So much to learn with these cars. Everyday presents a new project but i like it. Is there are tech article on here that will describe how to take apart the speedo so i can confirm its the gear?
Thank you

Mine did the same thing. I sent it out to Palo Alto Speedometer and it came back looking like new. I thnk it was arounf $140. After reading the DIY stories, it was well worth it in my book.

Yes. Go to the top of this page and click the yellowish tab marked "Tech Info Center", then scroll down through the 911 tech articles until you get to gauges. Not too hard, just time-consuming and a bit nerve-racking. If you take your time taking the bezel off, you'll be fine. But if you don't feel like a DIY, there are plenty of great repair shops.
