Talking A/C Evap switch question

I just replaced my evaporator, front & rear condensers, Receiver dryer and all the refirigerant lines. How far does the little "bulb" that is connected to the temp control switch in the cab have to go into the evaporator to correctly control the temp & keep the evap from freezing up?

Thanks,
Greys
