964 calipers modifications
I need some help with a question on an old subject which I cannot seem to answer with the search button.
I'm thinking of fitting the VCI modified 964 calipers over the 86 944t 28mm rotors as shown on the VCI site. A quick check through the archives and Bill V's brake page says that the 964 calipers will also fit over 930 32mm discs I want to start with the 944t 28 mm discs and if there is still a heat heat problem on DE days add the 930 32 rotors as an upgrade Do the calipers need any further modification to fit the 930 32mm discs other than slightly greater radial offsetting through the radial adapter? what about caliper throat widths etc? thanks

Good questions. I too am curious about the answer, as I have been considering this upgrade and would likely go straight to the 32mm rotor if it is possible.

I'd go with the rotor that does the job and no more. Have you weighed a 32mm rotor? Not light, but required if you need the mass.

Anyone know the approximate weight difference between a 28mm 951 rotor and a 32mm floating rotor?
Also, the beauty of a 964 caliper is that youu can still use the Carrera rear caliper with a 24mm rotor, which makes thing significantly less expensive.
