SC distributor Questions
Is the SC distributor a magnetic pick up in it's stock form? I'm just used to seeing points and a condenser. What am I looking at here?
BTW no dizzy diagram in the 911 dia. section... ![]()

yep. Looks normal to me.
I think 74 was the last year for points based ignition

OK so I'm trying to hook up a MSD 6AL - in a 914 - and I have the green wire with two spade connectors - now I need to get the mag pickup adapter for the msd........

Try this:
CDI Plug MSD Wires 1 System Ground Black coil wire 2 Tachometer Signal Black wire from left end of MSD unit (Tach connection) 3 Signal Ground (Green wire shield) Grd. Purple wire 4 Coil Hot +12 volts Orange coil wire 5 Switched +12 volts Small red wire 6 Signal (Green wire center conductor) Pos. Green wire Heavy red wire +12 volts (wire to starter terminal Heavy black wire Grd. (wire to chassis and engine) (Looking at top of plug on wiring harness with the beveled edges to the front.) 4 5 6 1 2 3
