Exhaust system questions
hi..im trying to learn and unravel some mysteries...im new to 911's. the pic below is the exhaust on the left side. am i correct in assuming the cat has been removed? and...that there is no o2 sensor? this does not look original to me. the 2nd photo is from the pipe going into the muffler...it says B&B. the car runs fine once warm and the car passed inspection...but i now presume the inspector was bewildered by my setup and just passed it since in NY, the exhaust inspection portion is just a visual test (or so I was told) for a 1983 vehicle.
can anyone give me any info about this setup, is it B&B, is it any good, might the o2 sensor still be in place somewhere? thanks

no, upstate NY. the tester said they only need to check to make sure the emission equipment is present...so i assume they looked, got confused and passed it..since it appears the cat is not present.
i assume the o2 sensor is gone too. i dont see it

He may of thought the heat exchangers were the cats???
I've heard some pretty funny stories with inspections on 911's. I recall one where the "inspector" looked with his inspection mirror in the middle of the car (between the front and rear wheel) and proclaimed the exhaust was OK. Thanks Einstein.
