Does anyone have a timing advance curve for a 1970 2.2L 911S?
I am looking for an advance curve for my 70S. I've done a number of searches here and have not located one.

Sherwood do you have the curves for the normal 2.0 and a 1970 911T 2.2?
I am trying to figure out what is in my 1970 911T. The fan strap is for a 2.4, the distributor is for a 2.0 (haven't checked for the orange label to tell if it's a 2.0S or a normal Bosch distributor), the engine number is a 2.2T, and it's definitely been rebuilt. The car has around 200K on it and it measures around 170 psi on all cylinders.

I think the distributor for a 70T is the same for the 69T, a Marelli distributor. I don't have this distributor curve scanned. Is yours a Marelli or Bosch? Distributor number?

My car has a Bosch distributor from an early 911. I guess the PO couldn't get a Marelli cap and installed an early Bosch distributor. I'll check for the part number here in a little bit.

Blue, if that's a 0 231 159 001 distributor in your car, with a cast-iron body, see here for everything I know about it.

John- Thanks for the link, it looks like you learned a lot about the early distributors in that thread. You actually identified my early distributor for me about a month ago.
From what I can see if my distributor hasn't been recurved I might be missing as much as 5 degrees of advance around 1400rpm. I might have the car back together tomorrow so I can check the timing. I haven't worked with this distributor but in the other thread you said the early cars have an oil cup at the bottom, is the cup held in by a flat blade screw?

Ok, I was able to cleanup the #s on the dizzy and use a mirror/flashlight to get the part #: 0 231 159 007 - so that corresponds with the correct 1970 911S dizzy and the lower curve in the [edit out: first chart] I meant to say in the late E & S chart..
