SC Fog lights only work on high beam?!
Little help, please?
Shouldn't it be the other way around? Something may be backwards... TIA.

Supposed to work only on low beam and parking lights.

Bump... anyone? I checked the wiring at the fuse block, and it's good. I don't mind wiring in another relay to control the fogs...
Gotta get home and check the diagrams again.

Not sure, but I would venture to guess someone must have swapped the wires around on purpose....but, here's what I would do......Throw a relay on the circuit, swap out the pretty much worthless fog lamps and replace them with either Cibie or Hella driving lights. You will be much better off and safer.

I mean the factory fogs, which I guess are really driving lights. They're Hella. Fogs should be yellow, no? Mine are clear. Nice and bright, but only on high beams! I'd like to add a relay for them anyway, but need to know how to trip the relay with the foglight switch. anyone know off the top of their (collective) heads?

Does the present wiring demonstrate proper circuit pathing? Something is arsebackwards here......electrically speaking? Truly opposite functionality.

I second the turn signal switch. Pull the steering wheel off to gain access to the turn signal switch mechanism/assembly. They are notorious for failing after 20+ years of high current passing through its inadequate arrangement.

Here's your problem.....If the lights are Hellas, a previous owner installed them. The stock fog lights that came on the car were Bosch. If your Hellas have fluted lenses, they're fog lights. If the lenses are clear, they're driving lights. There's no need to run a relay for the fogs because the dash switch for the fogs were wired on a relay from the factory. The wire for the fogs at your fuse panel is on the wrong circuit......it should be attached to the low beams. However, you can wire them European style so they'll come on with the low beams or the parking lights......just a matter of switching the wire around......do a search.....there's a number of threads on this. Regarding relays, what you really should do is buy a high/low beam relay from Marcus Sucro and wire that to your high and low beams. The problem that most of these cars have is that the headlight ciruit is not on a relay and the voltage is constantly coming through your turn signal switch which eventually gives out. Marcus Sucro's double relay routes the voltage from your high and/or low beams through a relay, essentially turning the headlight switch into a signal device and eliminating the turn signal harness from the voltage circuit.
