Console "delete", but have A/C

Any of you guys handy with fabrication w/aluminum?

I'm thinking I (or you) can use the piece that holds the AC controls in the console (SC car) as a template, but need a little extra tab to mount using the screms that hold the center bow tie vent in.

I think I like the car sans console a little better. Seems more purposeful. I may get rid of the AC sometime all together, but figured for now I would relocate the switches.

Has anyone done this? Something already exist? Can someone help?

Thanks!

Todd

I got rid of the console and AC, but kept the dash fan. I relocated that switch to an empty spot, directly right of the steering column. If you are relocating two knobs, I agree, you will probably have to fab a under dash bracket. Dash space is certainly tight. Maybe you could lose the fog lights and use that switch space?

Someone here posted pics of a radio-delete plate and mounted the A/C controls there.

Good feedback so far, but I'm not at all that interested in adding the switches to the dashboard itself, or deleting the radio. Should be fairly simple (although I don't have the equipment) to fashion a bracket based off the current console bracket, with an extra tab to allow it to be mounted somewhere below. I think the 2 screws where the bow tie vent is would be the easiest.

i just zip tied the switch mount from the console to the spot where the ashtray goes. it was solid and worked fine until i removed the a/c, and didn't damage anything. i think there's a pic on my website below.

Here's what I did

AC, Console Delete; Voltmeter Add; Switches Solution

You could use both AC switches. I deleted the AC but kept the fan.
