Window switch and relay woes - long

I just spent a couple hours replacing and testing the power window switches, I still have a problem with the passenger window switches and possibly the relay. Here's what's happening:

Driver's window switch works properly.

Neither passenger window switch works properly, but if I hold the driver's door switch for the passenger window UP and the passenger's door window switch DOWN, the P window goes down until the switch is released, then it goes up automatically.

I have replaced BOTH switches for the passenger door window but not the switch for the driver side window since it works correctly.

I also noticed that when I remove then reconnect the Positive battery terminal, the relay (944 615 116 00) clicks without the switches being pressed.

So is my relay shot? Can they be replaced? I didn't see them in Pelican's catalog.

I have printed out over an inch thick stack of threads concerning power windows for reference and will try again tonight. This problem is most puzzling since everything worked just fine before I took the driver's door panel off to repair a broken Bowden cable.

I came across this thread while working on my window relay. I assume your windows are fixed by now, but your drivers door window switch is bad for sure.
Also, yes, your relay is bad, too. Do a search at Pelican for that number, it is there. Change both of those pieces and all will be well. HTH

I did finally fix it, the problem was a misplaced wire! Even after I made sketches, took pictures, labelled wires - I still managed to reverse two of the brown wires. All works well now, but I have noticed that sometimes the driver's side switch for the passenger window won't work until I use the passenger door switch, then it works fine. Ahh, the Porsche electrical system!
