Deceleration Tick?

Iv got a 82 sc 3.0. When im going down hill under compression breaking especially when its cold i get a spuratic ticking. It sounds like it could be the cam chains ratling would they do that? My brother suggested the cv's but it doesnt sound like that to me

Do you have a tensioner update ? If you think you have a chain rattle, I wouldn't go too far before I checked it out . Big bill if one fails.

BTW, don't run your engine hard until it's warm. After you check it out that is.

its got hydraulic tentioners. Its just because i live up on a big hill and i dont wait for it to warm all the way up before i go down. ill check the cv's but i think ill just have to avoid compression breaking till its warm. Actually it may even do it when coasting now that i think about it. Ill have to investigate it further. I was just curious if anybody else had such a problem
