Need instrumnet cluster "blank"

My dead clock is going bye bye and in it's place I want to install a voltmeter. Have had many great ideas from this forum. Now Im looking for a "blank" to fill the hole where the clock was. I'll have to adapt the voltmeter to the "blank" in order for it to fit right. Does anyone know where I can get a "blank"

If still available...be prepared to sit down before you read the price...

--> blank for clock hole?

Might consider a DVD case back, trimmed to fit using the original rubber surround of the clock..as someone here once mentioned.

I bought mine on eBay (not road & race) for $25. It is fabricated from aluminum with a ridge around the outside and short (approx 1 1/2 " sides) like a plug that slides into the factory rubber surround. Fit the clock space perfectly. This picture is hard to see, but it's all I have at the moment.

Roger,
The part number you want is 911 552 205 00 - deckel/cover.
I bought 2 for AUS $ 20 each about 15 years ago.
Use the dealer network/specialty shops before looking on e bay.

Cheers,
Dennis.

Roger, what is the plan for the dead clock? I am looking for a bad clock for one of my projects - would you be willing to pass it on to me?

For what it's worth, the clock delete plug still shows up in the parts system with a retail of $19.54, but the part has really been discontinued and my dealer has found none of them still floating around in the system. Your choices seem to be a used one, a NOS one from somebody's stash, or a reproduction one, if you can find it.
