Ring and Pinion mesh pattern

I just set the ring gear in pinion shaft in my 901 transmission and then marked both the ring gear and pinion shaft with blue marker. Can anyone describe to me what a good mesh pattern should look like on the ring gear and pinion shaft?

Thanks for your help.

Rob

If you search you will find a really good thread on R+P rebuilds. I think it was by RarlyL8.

Do a Google search under "ring & pinion setting" and you will find lots of good info from the 4x4 guys. Great pictures included. I don't think this is something that you can "explain".

Good Luck!

Garage
I'd also use something like a thin yellow or white paint rather than marker.
