Only occasionally, but it would be great if someone would organize a rally or get together, not me I'm just a follower.

Maybe just maybe someone should start the process of organizing a spring gathering of early 911's (maybe we will let some newer cars join in) and do a daily drive/event up here in Norther New England, aka God's Country.... Head up, Drive the Kank, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Hampshire_Route_112), head over to the coast and down RTE 1a on the ocean and end at some car event....

I'm up for anything this year. Was killing me the other day in the 60s but tons of salt on the roads.

Now a friend of mine in this conversation sent me this link. Unfortunately I am in the water cooled Boxster group so I can't play with the early 911 guys. In my defense, I did have a 77 911 C3 so I was once a cool kid. With that said, I would be open to putting together a more inclusive group that is Porsche specific. (any car is really fine in my book) I'm on the south shore of MA but anywhere is fine. We have lots of nice roads down here if you know where to look. I did one years ago where likely 20 cars showed up and we hung out at peggoty beach in Scituate, MA and then went to the harbor for lunch. One car stands out from then. A lime green long hood with extended tail pipes. I think the guy lived in DC. Anyhow if folks want, I can organize. Just let me know what area you all want.

Hi DWB0200,
I'm an air cooled guy, down on the Cape. We have a local Posrche group that gets together for breakfast on Saturdays. We also usually do a spring or fall tour. Always looking for a new place to drive our cars, like a whole day drive with lunch stop. So if you are interested in putting some good roads together in your area(Scituate and surrounding areas) let me know. Thanks, Steven Shakin shakin123@comcast.net |
