Real Spark Plug Issues
Not the autolite vrs. Champion vrs. NGK vrs. Bosch BS.
Real issues I have experienced over the last two years are the following and are worth watching for: 1. One plug's ceramic insulator lost pressure and was freely turning inside the metal case. 2. Another's terminal tip somehow managed to unscrew completely from the plug although the spark plug wire was still connected to the terminal tip. No spark, or intermittant spark reaching the plug. I'll just be changing out plugs every six-months or so to avoid this type of wierdness.

Doesn't matter. This should have been posted in the BMW r1100s motorcycle forum! Somehow it ended up here, a site I've never been to!!

I think the new forum software is having issues placing new topics in the wrong forums occasionally.
BTW, I always use pliers and gently tighten the tips on the plugs before installation. Last edited by TerryH; 08-18-2007 at 01:44 PM.. |
