RS replica built off 3.2 base - has anyone done it?

Has anyone built an RS replica starting off with a Carrera 3.2? If so, are there any pictures? Thanks.

Porsche Doc on this board did it with a 964. It was a beauty too.

Thanks guys.

Scooter - the terms 'RS' and '3.2' are both too small for the search engine.

Use "backdate" or "Longhood"

I'm in the process of doing more of a 911S on steroids, using an 88 Carrera as a starting point (with a 3.6, 993 brakes, suspension, etc).

I got tired of "another RS reilica" so went a different route.

Its not done yet, but almost.

83 SC cab backdate...3.6 powered....TRE supplied the pieces. He now has a simpler way to do the fenders.

Beautiful cars, guys.

JTO - from where did you source all of the chrome bits and pieces? The car looks great with them. I'm actually looking to build a car just like yours, except in orange and with a ducktail. After reading about Porsche Doc's C4RSR though, I'm thinking of starting off with a 964 base.

The trim pieces are the original bits that came with the car, just polished and clear anodized.

meh

I say rock the boat

or a 3.2 with the headlights photoshoped in:

i'd love to see a longhood with something similar.

black one is 278rwhp, silver one has a massaged 2.7L... blue one is makebelieve but 3.2L...

a cream coloured longhood with black trim and wheels with those headlights seems likea good idea to me, especially with a short stroke engine.

What kind of headlights are those? They look like the ones from the 02-04 MINI.

JTO - that is almost IDENTICAL to what I am doing with my daily - except I'll be on 15"s (so no 993 brakes for me). Very nice, classy.

Maybe not the exact car your looking for, but my brother and I redid a tired 87 coupe with 115k on it and turned into a serious track car. I'll spare all the details because it would take some time, but it has a rebuilt high Euro compression 3.2 with numerous engine upgrade, rebuilt and regeared G50 with close ratio's, and $$$$$'s more. (My brother likes to spend money.) The car is very sweet and expertly done. Unfortunately, it is really the ultimate DE and track day car. The upgrades have seriously impinged on it doing any PCA club racing, but he didn't want to subject the car to it anyway. Weighs about 2400lbs with all the safety upgrades installed.

Granted the styling doesn't follow any rigid form. He focused mostly on function and weight reductions. Maybe not everyones idea, but he likes it. And the car if very, very fast.

Thanks Keith,
I have always loved the early 911s. Also, Jack's BB1 was always a favorite of mine. So, I blended the best of the 911 parts bin (stuff from a 993, basicaly) and the best looking of the 911s (my opinion) into one car.

And you did an excellent job. It's one classy automobile, and I hope to build one similar in looks before next year's end.

How long did it take TRE to do your conversion? And, at the risk of being rude, may I ask around how much it cost to carry it out?

05 mini cooper's to be perfectly correct!

they are very light weight, they light the road much better then the H1/H4 etc... and IMO they suit the same design.

as for more pics of the silver spider, i'm gonna post here, not trying to thread steel, if you want them removed just pm me and i'll get ride of the post

here are more pics

thats all i can find right now, should have more... car is insanely light, well under 1800lbs, it won best modified at portland parade... its a *nice* car.
