what boost limit for track days?
How much boost is ok to run for track days? I am contemplating installing a 1.0 bar spring in my 1979 930 and the only mods to the car are the following:
K27HFS turbo GSF exhaust headers B&B intercooler stock Porsche wastegate stock CIS with no other fuel enrichment devices. AM I asking for trouble or will a 1.0 bar spring still not be too much for hard track driving? Need some real experienced users to chime in as I do not want to find out the hard way that this was a bad idea. Thanks, Fred |

When you leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the entrance of the next you have enough boost.

If you use that 1 bar spring, you need to use 100 octane unleaded race gas, for sure.
I would STRONGLY suggest that you check your AFR's before doing the DE event, too. ![]()

i ran a 1.0 spring for many, many hard track days (a few years), as do just about every other turbos out there and never had a problem. As steve mentioned, make sure your AFM is right and you use high octane.
