Enjoyed a Sunday working on the car

Seems somebody wanted my pos stereo and did damage to the car. Well after finally some down time, I was able to work on the car. I have to say some things on the car almost got to me, but lucky for me,Corona was on my side. While I was there I fixed some items that needed attention, fresh air control unit and loose heater ducts in the front.

I saved myself $1,000 on labor and parts for the above, it cost me $75 for used parts on pelican and my own time

Plently of these to help when space was tight and the cables on the fresh air control would not want to go on the clips

space is very tight in the front when replacing the cables

While my passenger knee pad is still bent , the interior is better now then before.
I still have to replace my cab top (which I will let a pro do)

Word of advice on these fresh air cables, I taped the cables together from the old unit to the new unit and slowly tugged on them from the front trunk, it worked and was easy, hardest part was putting the cables on the retaining clips.

frank im going to have to place you under arrest!!!! it has come to my attention thru your photos that you have allowed the NECTAR OF THE GODS HERE IN ARIZONA to reach an abnormal ambient temp!

it is writtian in granite from the GODS ABOVE...........that all coronas will have a cool cup/kozee/cozy/wetsuit/cold cup, placed around it all times when outside!

this is to preserve the sweet nectar from being befouled by this god awful heat and humidity.

well i'll let you get away with it this time w/a warning! but only this once!

i walked out to mine this am at 5am............ran duster over it and said screw it! with dewpoint in the 60's. went inside ..............and have been reading a book all day! too damn hot!

congrats on yer repairs. verdones does tops! scottsdale rd south of thomas west side.

Chuck

I did the NECTAR OF THE GODS good, I downed my coronas so no abnormal ambient temp would be reached

We'll have to have some at a porsche get together soon

Ok in my haste in over looking the dash repair it seems there was an extra hole cut on the 1985 that the repair dash piece came from...my 80 has the extra hole set up but was not cut out...what can i put in its place?

Mind you already have the fogs, rear defroster switches...i just need something to cover the extra hole

If the hole you a referring to is the one to the right of the steering wheel, I relocated my fan control for which was ac, now fresh air to that location. it was a stretch but I made it happen without splicing. If that dosn't work squeeze the lime in there that you forgot to put in your beer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_beer <--Check it out. I had heard this in a Latin American history course back in college, but thought my brain might've made it up along the way.

Who'd have thunk it? Almost fitting, as the last few decades of air cooled VW's were also produced in Mexico.... Prost!

A Chelada or two made from either Dos Equis Amber or even a lighter Sol is terrific in the heat wave we've had the past month or so (100+). Very refreshing...a good ol' Chelada made with Corona 'ain't bad' either...
