Need Help Finding Empty Motronics Box

I have a project I am planning where I need a Motronics box. I don't need the circuit board, really only the connector and box is all I need.

Do any of you know where I can get my hands on one for reasonable price? PM if you do. Thanks in advance for any help.

Truth is, I have a master plan of building a megasquirt in the same box as a motronic and using the same wire. I saw a BMW that did it and it was so clean. Long term project just getting started.

+1 for "buy it on Flea Bay" - or hit up your local breaker's yard...

I'm guessing that you want one compatible with your 84-89 Motronic harness, which I think would likely be an ML31 Motronics box, just judging by the year(s).

Here's the Bosch part numbers for the ML31 Motronics (these were used in Bimmers and Volvos of the era too, and are generally free of Porsche tax/easier to get):

0261200050 = ML31
0261200051 = ML31
0261200052 = ML31
0261200053 = ML31
0261200055 = ML31
0261200071 = ML31
0261200075 = ML31
0261200076 = ML31
0261200077 = ML31
0261200078 = ML31
0261200079 = ML31
0261200082 = ML31
0261200084 = ML31
0261200085 = ML31
0261200086 = ML31
0261200087 = ML31
0261200088 = ML31
0261200089 = ML31
0261200090 = ML31
0261200091 = ML31
0261200092 = ML31

F R Wilk says that 0 261 200 057, 0 261 200 058, 0 261 200 076, 0 261 200 077, 0 261 200 086, 0 261 200 089 were Motronics ML31 models used on 944's (the earlier two models are marked superceeded, which may explain why they didn't appear in the other list).

I don't know the numbers for the 911 Motronics.

If you find that the box/connectors are the same for other Motronics boxes in the same series (e.g. ML32, ML33), I've got a complete list of these part numbers -> Motronics model I scraped off a web site years ago. I've also got a Bosch EFI vehicle-by-vehicle application guide in PDF. PM me if you want links to them.

No sense taking a Porsche Motronic out of circulation if you can find a cheaper one from another car, eh?

I agree with your logic on not taking a pcar box out of circulation. Thanks for the list of boxes. It helps a lot.
