I am defenitley doing the conversion in my 74 wide body, did you bolt upto a 915 or a g50?
I have an 85 915 being rebuilt for high HP motor. Matt |
Hi Matt, I used the original 915 from my '84. Had it rebuilt, seems to be holding up well so far ;)
Good luck with your conversion! |

Yeah I'm going to put in new2 syncros and a wevo bearing retainer in the 915 that should hold up OK. I have a 74 which I have just done a wide body on, from a narrow body with 8 & 10 inch fuchs make a real diff in the handling dept. a thread with some pics of my car So the plan is 3.6 (if I can get a Vram i will) otherwise a 964 and then goto 3.8 with either EFI or 50mm PMOs G80 cams and je pistons with some nice extractors and exhast should get 350+ hp out of that. what are the major tasks in doing the conversion, I hear the fuse box needs to be moved, any other anoying stuff like that required? If you don't mind me quizzing you for time to time, if that is OK? cheers Matt |
This is just great!!!
This makes me want a P-car project all the more... |
Matt,
Not sure about the fuse box needing to be moved??? I certainly didn't have to do that. No major tasks to do any of it really, just get hold of the various components such as the wiring loom adapter & flywheel (got mine from Patrick motorsports) and chuck them all in ;) Plenty of threads on here with loads of information. |
