Castrol GTX 20W50 with a Mahle OC-54 oil filter (order from Pelican) is a good combination. The internal construction of Fram filters make them a poor choice for the 911 oiling system.

avoid Castrol - find Steve W's posts and read them.

+1 Mahle filter.

AutoZone sells Rotella T (at least around here...but everyone in Michigan drives a truck, and quite a few are diesels).

I currently have Valvoline 20W50 racing oil in mine, largely because the local parts store had a case sitting around. IMHO, if the engine is so picky that using the wrong brand of oil screws it up (once it's broken in), then I'll just junk mine when she blows and forget all about Porsche cars for the rest of my life. I personally do not have time or energy to obsess about oil brands...

what?

the Castrol? (puts yellow-brown deposits on motor internals)

or the Zinc? (conc.'s of ZN reduced recently & that lowers effective anti-wear protection even in oils we thought were good)

or synthetic (proven to protect better than dino oils in your motor, while needed less of the additives that can gunk up the motor)
