Stupid Noob Cam Question

Sorry if this has been asked a million times (I searched but didn't find) - but what's the best cam upgrade to an otherwise stock 2.7L engine? I've read that if one is to (hypothetically speaking, of course. . . ) go from CIS to PMO carbs, it would be worthwile to upgrade to "SC cams", but are these directly adaptable from the SC engines to the 2.7L engines? What kind of gains will I realize by doing this if I can do so without running into interference or other problems?

Yes, I'll be doing the cam tensioners and remote oil cooler first.

Jeff:

I would not go beyond an SC-grind cam for your '74 2.7.

SC cams will not work in your engine so you will need to have yours reground to SC-specs.

Thanks Steve - any idea who can do this? Is this something you guys do at Rennsport? Is it worthwhile?
